The Outcast (Psalm 43)
03:38
|
|||
Have I run so far away to escape from all the pain and have I lost You?
For I want to praise your name in the night and in the day, but I can’t find You
Now I have made friends with doubt and fear,
How I long to feel Your presence near. I, who said, “The Lord my God
Would never strike me with His rod.” Am now alone in gloom and welling tears
Oh, the faithless men surround and they drive me to the ground and I am groaning
How I long to hear the sound of Your voice amid the row and feel Your glowing
Send your light and guide me on Your path. You, who were my help in ages past
Lead me to Your holy place for only there will I be safe, and in Your presence there my joy will last.
Oh, listen now, my soul; the Lord is on His throne, He hasn’t lost you.
You will praise Him in the fold of His people, so be bold for He will draw you. In His house you will be kept secure.
For Him your dwelling place has been made pure. So, my soul, before him bow, for you are In His presence now.
Forever and again his love endures.
Hallelujah!

How my soul it thirsts for You
In a weary land where the wells have dried.
And my flesh it longs for You.
You are God alone, there is none beside.
Long I've searched these empty streets;
Waiting for You there,
Looking for Your face.
In the night my watch I keep. Longing to be there in Your holy place
On my bed I meditate. Remembering Your grace in the years gone by.
For Your kind and loving gaze is worthy to be sought;
Is better than my life.
My lips will praise Your glorious Name
in spite of all my foes
who speak deceitful lies.
Kings and poor will do the same, for in the fear of God will all men be wise
For under Your name alone is a place of shade; a shelter from the sun
And within Your arms, oh Lord, clinging for my life I am kept from harm
Your presence drives out fear and foe,
My torment finds an end;
A sabbath for my soul.
Weakness is redeemed through faith;
Your presence in our praise makes the broken whole
Weakness is redeemed through faith;
Your presence in our praise makes the broken whole

Eli, Eli (Psalm 22)
04:45
|
|||
Gathered all around are my enemies.
All the strength is gone from my quaking knees.
Since my lungs were filled You have been my breath;
Now my heart is sick even unto death.
You preserved my life in my mother's arms.
Now at the hands of men do I suffer harm.
Oh God, My God, please be not far from me!
You my strength and song and my portion be.
Oh Lord, let me hear Your voice.
Let the bones You have broken rejoice.
May I shout Your praises, let me not be put to shame
and I'll sing with the people of Your name
My fathers trusted You when they were distressed;
You were all their hope and You brought them rest.
I raise my voice to You in the heat of the day;
in the night I cry, but it holds no sway.
I am mocked, oh Lord, because You will not speak.
Raise Your arm, oh Lord, to preserve the weak.
You will hear the cry of the lowly heart.
From the one who seeks You will not be far

T'Shuvah (Psalm 32)
05:12
|
|||
I told a lie and hid my face and just like all my fathers did, I turned to my own way
And through the night I stayed awake, fear engulfed my restless hours and all my body ached.
My thoughts became entangled like a fraying, tattered rope.
The darkness pressing inward was snuffing out my hope, oh
I dare not speak for fear of judgment,
But suffered in my chosen torment.
For in Your love You pressed me down, and though You asked me to confess, I didn’t make a sound
And as the waters rose around my anger sapped me of my strength; I knew that I would drown.
I struggled there in silence, blaming everyone but me.
Wishing You’d remove Your hand and I’d finally be free, oh
And though I heard your quiet pleading,
I thought the truth would leave me bleeding.
(Selah)
Then I said “I will confess,” Oh my soul, I must confess
Against Your law I have transgressed, Oh Lord.
I cannot hide my sin from You, I cannot hide it from Your view;
How my heart has been untrue, Oh Lord.
And You forgave, somehow forgave! Carried away the burden and the weight
You took my pain and held my shame.
The God I feared became my hiding place.
(Selah)
Let the righteous people seek His face in the day He can be found.
They will find salvation from the waves as the waters rise around.
He will comfort all of those who mourn and He will keep them from distress.
He will be their shelter in the storm and give them songs of peace and rest.
He will lead them in the way of life if they will humble all their pride.
If the stubborn ones will seek His light in His name they will abide.
So rejoice, all you who sought His face and turned from all your wicked ways;
His constant love surrounds the trusting heart, The Lord will keep his soul from harm

Were the Lord not on our side, Let all His children say,
Were the Lord not on our side we would be swept away.
For His enemies have wished us only death.
In a torrent to take away our breath.
Their anger burned against the people of the Lord
as they prepared for us fire, snare, and sword.
Were the Lord not on our side, Let all His children say,
Were the Lord not on our side we would be swept away.
For His enemies rose up to tear us down;
To throw our children in waters deep to drown.
blessed be the Lord, who has saved us from their teeth.
The snare is broken, and we have been set free.
Our hope is Adonai. Our hope is Him alone.
For He has set us free to serve before His throne.
Our lives have been redeemed through washing and rebirth
by the One who made the heavens and the earth
Were the Lord not on our side, Let all His children say,
Were the Lord not on our side…

6. |

I lift my soul to You; Save me from disgrace.
No one who waits for You will be forever shamed.
My sorrow and my pain are all that I can see.
You love and mercy Lord lasts for eternity.
Adonai is good and He is fair,
so He teaches sinners where true life is found.
Forgive my sins and make me clean,
Stay near me in my suffering before I lie down in the ground
My sinful path began when I was but young,
But Your grace, oh Lord, is older than the sun.
My eyes are dimmed with tears, but they look to You.
Show me higher ways, and guide me in the truth.
Surrounded by my enemies not just around, but inside me;
It is God who saves. So I will look upon the Lord
To save me from both self and sword to sing His praise once again.
|
||||
7. |
||||
I will bless the Lord at all times;
His praise be on my tongue.
For the Lord has heard my cry
and called me to His throne.
Keep your tongue from evil words,
Speak the truth without deceit,
Turn your eyes upon the Lord
And He will preserve your peace
I sought the shelter of the Lord;
He saved me from my fears.
Though I am poor He gave His word
Redeeming all my tears.
When the righteous wait for Him
He will then renew their strength.
Though, ahead the way is grim, they will stand and sing His praise,
The sons of God have many trials - His goodness bears them all.
The Lord is near the broken heart; He saves them great and small.
When his children cry for help He will hear their plea at length.
In the midst of all their trials their songs of triumph will be raised.

Halleluyah (Psalm 113)
04:33
|
|||
Praise Him, you servants of the Lord.
For all who hunger for His Word are filled.
His glory shines above the sky.
Our father sits enthroned on high in greatness.
Halleluyah! Hallelu avdei Adonai.
Halleluyah! Hallelu et Shem Adonai.
Y’hi Shem Adonai m’vorach me’attah v’ad olam.
Mimizrach shemesh, mimizrach shemesh ad m’vo’o
M’hullal Shem Adonai
He brings the orphan to His throne
And fills the barren woman’s home with children.
He raises poor men from the dust
And He is worthy of all trust forever.
He doesn’t fear the low estate;
He gives to humble men the place of princes.
Though He is high above the land,
Still He will kneel to place His hand upon them
(Chorus: Praise the Lord! Praise Him, you servants of the Lord. Praise the Lord! Praise the Name of the Lord.
The Name of the Lord is blessed from now until forever. From the Rising of the sun to the place where it sets, The Name of the Lord is praised)
|
||||
9. |
||||
The Lord is my hope, He is all that I need;
In His land I will lie down and rest.
I will sit at His side by a murmuring stream.
From His table He gives what is best.
On righteous paths He will lead me down
For His Name, it is blameless and holy.
and my soul is restored as I walk with the Lord;
In His presence I venture out boldly.
The Lord is my hope, He is all that I need;
In His land I will lie down and rest.
When valleys are dark and when trouble is near
still, "The Lord is my strength!" I will sing.
For, ever His bow, it is trained on the foe
while I dwell in the shade of His wing.
For His goodness and grace is the song of my days,
and my hope is in His tender care.
And my soul is restored as I walk with the Lord
and forever His praise I'll declare.
The Lord is my hope, He is all that I need;
In His land I will lie down and rest.
